Welcome to ABSHA/ECS, the pioneers of Ethiopic computing since 1982. Ethiopic or Geèz is the ancient alphabet of Ethiopia which has been in use for thousands of years.

The alphabet was manually written until the printing press made it to Ethiopia around the beginning of this century. Starting in 1982, we computerized Geèz and ModEth, the first Ethiopian word processor for DOS was released in 1987. In 1993 EthioEdit was combined with Microsoft Word for Windows as EthioWord and this program even works in Windows 2000. GeezEdit was released in 1994.
